smile it’s the weekend

I missed a few days in my plan to blog every day this month. At least I can say it was because I was busy. I made a great pork chop recipe, baked a cake, cleaned the house, started a baby gift, supervised some decorating and plan to make cupcakes and coq au vin for dinner. I will trade two posts for all of that. Plus now I actually have something to blog about!

We had a large empty wall until today. After I put one of his favorite pictures in a frame/chalkboard my mom sent for my birthday, Tom got busy hanging some pictures on the wall. I have never understood it but he loves this photo.

I still make that face frequently. Here is our little wall. We are adding a magazine rack for mail as soon as I finish painting it. So probably next July is a reasonable date to expect that.

The welcome needlepoint was at my grandparents house but it was done by my mother. When the house got packed up it was one of the things I wanted most. I never could get into needlepoint but I love how it turns out.

The string art and the colorful skeleton are both gifts from my old roommates Joe and Corrine. One was a wedding present and one was a birthday present. I love the baking skeleton!

Of course we added some wedding pictures as well. We love looking at those pictures it was such a perfect day and a great reminder of how lucky we are to have each other.

Now I can cross two more popular trends off the DIY blogger list: chalkboard anything and gallery wall. I feel accomplished and all I had to do was supervise.

What have you been up to? Got big plans for the weekend?
